Interim Suspension Orders (ISOs)
The NISCC Conduct Rules allow the NISCC to apply an Interim Suspension Order In circumstances where the NISCC considers that allowing a social care worker to continue practising would be a significant risk to the public. An ISO temporarily removes a registrant’s registration from the NI Social Care Register while investigations into their alleged misconduct are ongoing. ISO hearings are not held in public and no public notices are issued relating to ISOs.
An ISO can be imposed for a maximum of six months in the first instance. It is reviewed before the date of expiry if an investigation is still ongoing. An ISO may be renewed but can not be imposed for more than two years in total. Details of active Interim Suspension Orders are listed below.
