Social Workers

The title ‘Social Worker’ has been legally protected since 1 June 2005 and anyone wishing to practise as a social worker in NI must be registered with the NISCC. This section contains information for social workers who qualified in the UK<, or who have a ‘Letter of Comparability’ from CCETSW which confirms their qualification is equivalent. Social workers who qualified in other countries should select the section for ‘Internationally Qualified Social Worker’ to download a Registration Kit.

NISCC Codes of Practice
The Code of Practice for Social Care Workers sets out clearly the standards of conduct, training and practice required of social care workers. Every social care worker should have a copy of the codes. The Codes are available in a range of formats from the Codes of Practice section.
