NOS in Leadership and Management for Care Services

Skills for Care and Development is pleased to announce the development of National Occupational Standards and NVQs/SVQs for Leadership and Management for Care Services. This project will review the existing NOS and NVQs/SVQs for Registered Managers in Adult Social Care and Residential Managers in Residential Child Care.

Skills for Care and Development is the Sector Skills Council for social care and children's and young people's workforces within the UK . It is an Alliance of five organisations:

• Northern Ireland Social Care Council
• Care Council for Wales
• The Children's Workforce Development Council
• Scottish Social Services Council
• Skills for Care

The work is being carried out on behalf of Skills for Care and Development by LMG Associates Ltd. The development work began in August 2006 and is scheduled to conclude in Autumn 2007. Throughout the consultation there have been opportunities for everyone involved in Management and Leadership in Care Services to contribute to the development of the National Occupational Standards and NVQs/SVQs by participating in sessions or by submitting feedback in writing, or online.
