Quality Assuring Social Work Training

NISCC carries out quality assurance checks on all approved social work education/training in Northern Ireland to ensure that it is consistent with our requirements. The QA system approves and monitors:

The QA Framework outlines the principles and procedures for the approval and regulation of NISCC qualifying and post qualifying social work education and training. Guidance on standards and specific quality assurance arrangements for the Degree, Designated Practice Learning Providers and the PQ Partnership is available from the links below

NISCC also operates an annual programme of thematic reviews that apply across all provision and relate to issues raised by employers or issues that have been identified through RQIA inspections and by other relevant inspection bodies. We may also undertake spot reviews if there are concerns about any area of provision. These reviews will be used to ensure that training develops to reflect changes in service requirements and meets the needs of people who use social care services.

Quality assurance and standards guidance is divided into 3 sections for ease of use. Within each section, guidance materials have been grouped in date order to help you find the title you need.
