Registrants' Committee

The NISCC Registrants’ Committee is a forum to provide advice and representation to the Council on Registrants’ views and issues relating to social care registration and regulation. It also helps to develop better communication and understanding between the Council and its Registrants.

The Registrants' Committee is not be able to provide advice or representation on individual conduct cases, but it does aim to bring fundamental issues affecting and concerning Registrants of the Council to the attention of the Council. The Registrant’s Committee has been working to gain an understanding of the Council’s business as a social care regulator and to identify how they can help to inform and influence these activities to ensure they reflect the views and expectations of the workforce.  Working Together - Understanding Roles and Boundaries of the Regulator, Trade Union and Professional Body has been produced jointly by the NISCC, Trade Unions and the Northern Ireland Association of Social Workers to define areas of responsiblity and shared responsibility.

In November 2011, Registrants participated in events to discuss the Review of Health and Social Care in NI.  Feedback from these events was submitted to the Review Team on behalf of NISCC Registrants.

Membership details, updates from meetings and terms of reference for the Registrants’ Committee are available below. NISCC hosts Roadshows around Northern Ireland to give Registrants an opportunity to share their views with the NISCC and the Registrants' Committee.  All social care workers are welcome to participate in these events. Advance notice of Roadshows is posted in the News section of this website.  Feedback from the events is available from the Updates section below.
