Social Care Workers

NISCC is registering the social care workforce in phases according to job role and location. The social care workforce includes people working in a range of job roles, providing, managing or supplying personal care and support to individuals, families and communities.

Social Care Workers who should now be registering are:

  • Team leaders in residential child care
  • Residential child care staff
  • Head of residential homes and day centres
  • Domiciliary care managers
  • Adult residential care staff

The timetable for compulsory registration of these staff groups was announced in December 2010.  NISCC is now working with employers to inform and support workers applying for registration.  If you are unsure when you should apply for registration, speak to your manager or contact the NISCC Enquiries Team for advice (Tel: 028 9041 7600).

The Registration Kit below contains all the materials you need to complete your application. Alternative formats of the materials are available on request. If you require advice on your application, or would like to order a printed copy of the application pack, contact the NISCC Enquiries Team.
